Jacco Maris Design, extraordinary lighting.

Handcrafted Dutch design since 1994.

Since 1994, craftsmanship has been at the heart of Jacco Maris. Every lighting piece is an extraordinary design where strength and tension merge with refined elegance and timeless harmony. Handcrafted in our own atelier in Breda, the Netherlands, using premium materials and with meticulous attention to every detail. The result is an exclusive collection of lighting objects, created to inspire for generations and to stand the test of time.

Most of the Jacco Maris lighting designs are based on metal and steel. These materials and the simplicity in light design are the most important trademark of Jacco Maris Design.

Stainless steel, black steel, cast metal and brass are distinctive elements that are used simply on their own or in combination with other material such as leather. Over the years numerous remarkable lighting collections have been developed, each with its own distinct character.

All light fixtures are crafted by hand. This enables Jacco Maris to supplement its standard collections with bespoke work and special designs for projects, incorporating the client’s specific wishes in every fine detail.

After every connection has been made and every detail refined, the composition finally reveals itself. The balance between form, material and light gives ode 1647 its quiet presence, allowing the chandelier to define a space without overwhelming it. The process may come to an end, but the character of the piece is only just beginning. #jaccomaris #ode1647 #craftedlighting #architecturallighting #dutchdesign
Over the past few weeks, ode 1647 has taken centre stage: a collection inspired by the grandeur of the seventeenth century. Only this week, we move to the other end of the spectrum: tubular. Clean, contemporary and reduced to a clear form. While ode 1647 finds its character in layers and rich detailing, tubular is defined by line, colour and light. Two entirely different collections, connected by the same attention to material and craftsmanship. #jaccomaris #tubular #lightingdesign #contemporarylighting #designcraftsmanship
Every material brings its own character. The metal structure gives ode 1647 its architectural rhythm, while the velvet shades introduce softness, warmth and depth. Together, they create a composition that feels rich in detail while remaining balanced in its presence. Available in a carefully selected range of metal finishes and velvet colours, each composition can be tailored while staying true to the essence of ode 1647. #jaccomaris #ode1647 #architecturallighting #lightingdesign #craftedlighting
As ode 1647 nears completion, the focus shifts from construction to refinement. Each element is carefully positioned, secured and checked by hand, allowing the composition to develop its final balance. These quiet moments of attention may seem small on their own, yet they define the character of the chandelier as a whole. The final stage is never about adding more, but about refining what is already there. #jaccomaris #ode1647 #craftedlighting #architecturallighting #dutchdesign
Before ode 1647 defines a space, it begins in the atelier. Each arm, connection and detail is carefully assembled by hand, allowing the composition to grow step by step before the final finish is applied. The process may remain unseen, but it shapes everything that follows. #jaccomaris #ode1647 #craftedlighting #architecturallighting #dutchdesign
𝗼𝗱𝗲 𝟭𝟲𝟰𝟳 | 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝘆 𝟭𝟲𝟰𝟳 Some forms never lose their presence. Inspired by the grand chandeliers of the early seventeenth century, ode 1647 reinterprets a familiar silhouette through contemporary craftsmanship and carefully selected materials. The composition feels generous without becoming overwhelming, while velvet shades introduce softness and warmth that gently shape the atmosphere of the space. A tribute to the past. Designed for today's interiors. #jaccomaris #ode1647 #architecturallighting #lightingdesign #dutchdesign
The form remains the same. The character changes with colour. Crafted from powder-coated aluminium, hall-O explores how a single circular form can take on different expressions without losing its quiet architectural presence. Some finishes blend naturally into their surroundings, while others introduce a stronger visual statement, each allowing the light to be experienced in its own way. The result is not a different design, but a different atmosphere. Shaped by colour.
